Avoiding The Click Fraud Trap – Here Is How
The internet has increased tremendously through the years, which has really given a huge push to the PPC advertising industry. This has made things better in some respects, but produced negative things in areas such as pay per click advertising.
Have a Unique URL: Even though that might sound technical, it’s not. While it sounds difficult, what we mean is that you need to make a unique URL for your sales page that will work with your PPC campaign. Just save a copy of your sales page under a different URL. So if for example your website is selling “health supplements” and your URL is www.besthealthsupplements.com, you can just save it as www.besthealthsupplements /product.
Make Your URL Unique. That does sound technical, but it is easy to do. Defining a unique URL for your sales page will that works well with your PPC campaign is all that means. Its easy, just copy your sales page and save it under another URL.
A simple way to do this would be if for example your website is selling “health supplements” and the main website URL is www.besthealthsupplements.com, just add a forward slash and the word product to the end and save it and it will like this www.besthealthsupplements.com/product. You can also make a sub-domain such as product.besthealthsupplements.com. The cloned sales page will stay there and you can use them for your PPC campaign. Your cloned pages will just get traffic coming from your PPC campaign and will filter out the other types of traffic coming to your site. Make sure you’re not linking to this page from anywhere else since that would dilute the traffic. Pay attention to the visitors who come just from your PPC campaign.
The reason for this is, you want your ad to be focused only on those content sites that are worth it and are of good quality. Putting your ads on all sites that show your keyword is only asking for the possibility of click fraud. Taking some of these small steps can make a big difference in the amount of return that you receive from your original pay per click investment.
The reason is that you only want your ad to be displayed on concentrated quality sites. Having your ads shown on all sites that target your keyword phase is just asking for click fraud to occur. Taking such small steps can make a huge difference to the overall return that you get from your PPC investment.
Every single step that you take towards eliminating click fraud will help you bring down your losses to a great extent. Remember that your pay per click campaign is there to get a return on your investment, not lose money.
